Homemade Mud Mask Recipes for Healthy Skin

For a healthy skin, homemade mud mask recipe is very essential. This mask helps in nourishing the skin by moisturizing and shrinking the pores. Thus it helps in clarifying problem skin, eliminate excess oil, tone of the skin, and help in unclogging pores. Mud mask indeed is very beneficial for the skin. It exfoliates the skin and removes toxins from the skin thereby maintaining the pH level and rejuvenating the skin. Thus with all these benefits, it comes as no surprise for the mud mask to gain more and more popularity with each passing day.

Preparing your own homemade mud mask recipe is one of the easiest things you will come across. Though it’s hard to believe but you can try your hands to know it. Following are some of the mud mask recipes:

Dead Sea Mud Mask

The Dead Sea mud mask is good for normal to oily skin. For this particular mud mask, all that you need is 1/2 cup of Dead Sea mud, 2 drops of carrot seed essential oil and 2 drops of sandalwood essential oil.

Add in all the ingredients and mix it properly by making sure that it is incorporated. Once it is properly blended store it in a glass container. Spread the mask on your face evenly and leave it on for atleast 5 minutes and not longer than 15 minutes. Wash it off with warm water.

Peppermint Mask With Mud

This particular mud mask is meant for oily skin. The ingredients required for this particular mask are, 2 tablespoon of rubbing alcohol, 1 teaspoon of peppermint extract, 2 teaspoon of fuller's earth.

Mix all the three ingredients together and apply evenly. Do not touch the eye area. Leave it on for about 10 minutes and then wash it off.

Mango Mud Mask

This mud mask is simple and delightful mask that leaves your skin feeling fresh and nourished. The ingredients required are 1/4 mango peeled and deseeded, 2 tbsp of powdered oatmeal, 2 tbsp of powdered almond, 2 tbsp of heavy whipping cream (for very dry skin) or whole milk (for not so dry skin).

Combine all the ingredients and blend it to form a smooth cream. If the mixture is thick then add in a bit of distilled water or hydrosol. Apply it on the face, neck and hands and leave it on for about 15 minutes. The oatmeal and almonds perform the exfoliating action. It acts as a soothing cleansing agent. Follow up with your toner and moisturizer.

Honey Mud Mask Recipe

The honey mud mask is especially for those who have oily skin. The ingredients used in this mask are 1-2 tsp of dead sea mud, 1/2 tsp honey, 3-4 drops of tea tree or lavender oil.

Mix honey and the Dead Sea mud in a bowl and add in the essential oil. Apply the mixture and leave it for atleast 20 minutes. Rinse it thoroughly. This mask is the best for acne prone skin.

Sea Mud Body Mask

The ingredients required for this particular mask are 2 tbsp sea mud base, 5-6 drops of essential oils, 1 cup of distilled water heated.

Put all the ingredients together except the essential oil and blend it till the mixture thickens. Add the essential oil, you can also add in other additional ingredients such as aloe vera gel, green tea extract etc. and blend it properly. If the mask is not used immediately then seal it in a plastic bag and store it in the refrigerator. It can be stored for about 2 weeks. When you want to use it, place the bag that contains the mask in boiling water until warm to use the mask.
