An eye make-up is incomplete without the finishing touch of Mascara. The main motive behind using mascara is to highlight and dramatize the eye by curling the eyelashes, which makes the eye open up and bigger than they usually are. However, if you do not properly apply the mascara, it can either enhance or diminish your looks. So let’s get started with applying mascara.

How to apply

1) There are a variety of mascaras available in the market. Choose the mascara you want according to your requirements whether you want to thicken and lengthen your eyelash or waterproof mascara which last longer.

2) Select the color you want depending on the color of your eyelash, though black color goes well with everyone. Brown color looks good on those who have blonde eye lashes.

3) Apply eye shadow or eyeliner before applying the mascara.

4) Lift your eyelids using your finger, look down on a mirror and curl the lashes close to the root of the lash line, without hurting your eyelid. Crimp the curler for 5 seconds and slowly move out and crimp again, so that the eyelashes are properly curled.

5) Apply the mascara starting from the outer eyelashes and move evenly towards the inner eyelashes. Draw the wand gently from the base to the tips of the lashes.

6) While applying it always begin with the underside of the eyelashes. Hold the band parallel to the lashes.

7) If you want to thicken and lengthen your eyelash then apply a first coat of mascara, let it dry and then apply a second coat of it. Those who are blessed with long think lashes can save themselves with just one coat.

8) With the eyelash comb, comb through the lashes from root to tip to separate them and remove the cluster. Remove the bag of mascara colleted at the tips of your lashes with your fingers.

9) To open up your eye, wide and bright, finish off by applying one coat to your lower lashes. Skip this step if you have short eye lashes.

10) Put a little makeup remover on a swab of cotton and remove the splotch of mascara on your skin.

Metal curlers are preferred to the plastic ones as it curls the lashes perfectly. Before applying the mascara, wipe off the excess on the opening of your mascara bottle. Also do not pull the wand in and out of the bottle as it may pump in air and dry the mascara. Avoid using water proof mascara as it may break your eye lashes while removing it.
