Cooling your house without air-conditioning holds the idea of minimizing heat naturally. Like you can use portable fans or simple ceiling fans to keep the air moving in your home. This will make your room to get cool by 2 to 3 degrees from the actual temperature of a still room. You can also extract warm air by using an exhaust fan. Huge number of trees, bushes, plants and vines around your home is again a great way to keep the stress of heat away. They not only provide shade but also facilitate your house with an extremely fresh cooling effect. Dress comfortably- Be genuine to your body by wearing loose-fitting cotton clothes as they allow the air to pass through your body. You can opt for a good pair of shorts with a cotton t-shirt. Don't wear silky or chiffon stuff. Avoid heavy embroidery work clothes. They add lots of irritation to your body parts making you uncomfortable for the most part of the day.

Take cool drinks- Drinking cool beverages does not mean you should take alcohol or aerated drinks like coco cola. Instead of this, jump onto some healthy and beneficial cool drinks like lemon-mint juice, sugarcane drinks, buttermilk and lemonade. You should also drink lots and lots of water to keep the water levels of your body up. It will save you from any kind of dehydration problem.

Take a cool towel- Take a towel and soak it in cold water. Thereafter apply it on your face, neck, arms and legs. You will feel very cool and will be able to give a back seat to the hot weather problem.

No stove and oven- Stove and oven create an unwanted heat in your house. So avoid them. You can use rice cooker, slow cooker or pressure cooker in their place.

Keep windows open- Keep your windows and doors open during the early and later part of the day. It will keep the ventilation process to work well. But do not keep the doors open during the peak hours of the day as the sun's rays are at their prime level. So you may feel a lot of heat at that time.

Avoid strenuous exercise- Avoid indulging in any strenuous exercising regime as it can create the problem of dehydration. You can opt for doing yoga and meditation. They make your mind and body calm and compose.

Stay in shades- If it is extremely necessary for you to go out in the sun, then try to stand or sit in the shades. As another option, wear hats and sunglasses with sun protection, when in the outdoors. It will give you some relief from the devastating hot weather.

Do not get trapped in the thoughts of the hot weather outside. Instead think of some cool ideas like hanging out with an old pal of school days or enjoying cold coffee with your family members. It will give you a strong mental immunity to stay cool. And as they say, 'its all in the mind', so if you think cool then automatically you will feel cool. So, enjoy your cool house naturally!!
