Laser hair removal Treatment

Unwanted hair growth, at times, bugs us like anything. You get the real heck of it when you have very less time to adorn yourself before going out.

When you begin to admire yourself, standing in front of the mirror, envying your looks with the perfect make up on your face that goes with your well trimmed hair, and the well fitted dress which looks perfect on you with the high heel… and all of sudden … you notice those unwanted hair densely populated on your beautiful legs, spoiling your mood then and there.

Getting your hair removed has never been so easy until recently. Earlier, it used to be a real pain in the neck. You have to visit the salon every fortnight or so, spend heavily to get rid of those unwanted hair. And the rigorous pain that you have to go through in the process, it was like a nightmare for many of us.

But now, all our woes seem to have come to an end with the methods of permanent hair removal that is available to us. When we talk of it, there are basically three methods; 1) electrolysis, 2) laser treatment and 3) Intense pulse light.

But most people opt for laser therapy as electrolysis is expensive, painful and difficult.

Now, what is this laser treatment after all?

Laser treatment is a method which is opted by many for permanent removal of hair. It is a medical procedure in which a light beam is passed through the skin to the roots of the hair which targets the hair follicles and destroys it.

This laser treatment, however, does not remove the hair permanently but it slows down the growth of the hair. Depending upon the hair color, texture and skin of the person, he/she may need to take about 3-6 sittings to get rid of the hair permanently.

Effectiveness of the laser treatment may vary from person to person depending on the hair growth. Though, the permanent process is not guaranteed but long-term removal of unwanted hair is possible with multiple treatments.

Benefits

1) One major benefit is that long term hair removal is possible on one treatment depending upon the hair growth of the person.

2) It is convenient and time-saving.

3) It can remove large portion of hair on large areas such as chest, back and legs, very effectively.

4)  It is less painful as compared to electrolysis and is quite affordable.

5) It saves both time and money for those who have to go for this treatment very frequently.

6) Even if hair growth takes place, it would be finer and lighter in color and lesser in quantity.

Side effects

1) It might cause swelling and redness or discoloration of the skin due to the laser heat, which would not last long.

2) It is not clinically-proven.

3) Those with a darker skin are more likely to experience skin irritation and pain.

4) Sometimes blisters may appear around the area where the laser treatment has been done.

5) Sometimes darkening or lightening of skin may occur.

6) It might not be possible to remove the hair completely as some hair could be resistant to the treatment.

All these side effects are short-term ones, as long-term side effects are rarely found. However, before going in for a complete laser hair removal therapy, test on a small portion of your body to see if it results to any sort of skin irritation and other side effects and consult a medical expert. Also, get the much-needed awareness on how safe is permanent hair removal, before going in for any treatment.

Both a good description and good tips. I would like to add another. We are coming up to summer vacations which brings beach life to mind. So if you plan for laser treatment (or one of the other hair removal methods) do it a couple of weeks before your vacations to avoid bikini line sun burn over the recent lasering.
