Why do women cry?

Why do women cry?

We had a small reunion last week. And to entertain ourselves we divided ourselves into two groups- all women in one group and all men in the other group. And we decided to jot down10 things that mystify a woman and a man. We gave the other group to write about woman and we wrote about man. The guys had written a lot of things and had even exceeded the 10 points. But what really caught my eyes was the first two points they wrote, why women always complain and why women cry?

So we started a debate instead on why women cry forgetting all other points. Some of them said it could be due to their hormones which even we ourselves as women accept it to some extent. Some said that women are extra sensitive and have a tanker full of tears in their eye that’s why they cry. Some even went to the extent of saying women have nothing to do other than complaining and crying.

Do you really think this is the reason why women always cry? Well, I don’t personally think so. Being sensitive could be one good reason that often makes a woman cry. For sensitivity and mood swings comes part and parcel with women.

We tend to respond emotionally to different situations and mood swings. You must have seen and experienced it very often. When you see a child playing in the park you suddenly feel an emotional attachment with the child and for no reason tears well up in your eyes. Sometimes when we look back to the past and are reminded of the sweet memories, you suddenly feel tears rolling down your cheeks.

Sometimes crying serves as an outlet to all the pains and suffering that can’t be endured. We cry to overcome our frustration, to relieve ourselves from the emotional stress and tensions that engulf us. Anger often leads us to shed our tears. May be we don’t know how to gain an upper hand on it or maybe this is the only way we can express it perfectly.

Some might say that it is no use crying over spilled milk but it makes us feel better and makes us more focused, confident and able to deal with the things that led us to cry. It is perhaps the simplest way through which we, as a women, deal with different situation and maintain a balance in our life.

Women cry to let their emotions flow. Not always do we cry on sad occasions, we often tend to cry when we want to express our gratitude, we cry when are happy, we cry for all the good things and bad things that we go through. We cry to show that we are courageous yet gentle, strong yet fragile. We cry to show our depth of being a woman with feelings and emotions.
